This is a visiting care role, so you'll need a full UK driving licence and your own car.

Your pay

We believe it's important that you're clear about what you'll earn – including the time you spend travelling between clients.

• Weekdays (Monday–Friday): £13.80–£15.00 per hour

• Weekends (Saturday–Sunday): £14.80–£16.00 per hour

• Standard public bank holidays: 2× your respective weekday rate – up to £30.00 per hour

• Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve: 1.5× your respective weekday rate – up to £22.50 per hour

• Travel time between clients: £13.80 per hour

• Mileage: 45p per mile

When we need you

Our clients need support at different times throughout the day, so we're looking for Care Assistants who can offer:

• Weekday availability, particularly mornings and/or evenings

• Alternate weekends – both Saturday and Sunday

We'll discuss your availability with you during the recruitment process and how this matches the care hours our clients currently need.

More than just your hourly care rate

Visiting care involves travelling between the people you support, so we think it's important that your overall pay reflects this.

That's why, alongside your care-hour rate, we pay £13.80 per hour for travel time between clients and 45p per mile mileage.

You'll be supporting clients across Sevenoaks and our surrounding service area, so you'll need to be comfortable driving between clients during your working day.

What you'll be doing

As a Care Assistant, you'll visit people in their own homes and provide personalised support based around their individual needs, routines and choices.

Every client is different, but your visits could include:

• Providing companionship and conversation

• Supporting with personal care, including washing, dressing and grooming

• Helping clients get ready for their day or settle in for the evening

• Preparing meals and drinks

• Supporting with medication

• Shopping and light household tasks

• Accompanying clients to appointments or activities

• Encouraging independence and wellbeing

• Following individual care plans and accurately recording the support you provide

Above all, you'll take the time to get to know the people you support and provide care in a way that respects their independence and choices.

Do I need previous care experience?

No. Previous professional care experience isn't essential.

Experience in care is welcome, but we're equally interested in people who have the right values and attitude.

You might already work in care, be returning to the sector, or be considering care for the first time.

What matters most is that you're:

• Caring, patient and compassionate

• Reliable and committed

• A good communicator

• Comfortable working independently in clients' homes

• Available during the week and on alternate weekends

• Happy travelling between clients across Sevenoaks and the surrounding area

• A full UK driving licence holder with access to your own car

• Eligible to work in the UK
